Dr. Joe Chen

Dr Joe Chen is an experienced psychiatrist whom patients and colleagues respect for his compassion and clinical acumen. Dr Chen sees patients aged 16-65 and has an excellent professional reputation. He has worked across several settings in mental health and has a special interest in ADHD. Dr Chen was previously the Director of Psychiatry Training at Peninsula Health and currently holds an appointment as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.

Dr Chen is a medical graduate from the University of Queensland and is registered with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He commenced his psychiatric training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and subsequently trained with Monash Health and St Vincent’s Health, Melbourne. He completed his Advanced Training while working in emergency and acute psychiatric settings across Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia. He is actively involved in research on antipsychotic medication side effects and their management.
