

Dr Lucy Hand
IVF Psychiatry

Dr Hand is an empathetic and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist known for her thoughtful approach to psychiatric assessment and patient care. She works with individuals across a broad range of mental health conditions and is committed to providing clear, comprehensive, and evidence-based psychiatric assessments tailored to each person’s circumstances.

Dr Hand currently works as both a Staff Specialist Consultant Psychiatrist and a Visiting Medical Officer Consultant Psychiatrist with NSW Health and the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network. Through these roles, she has gained extensive experience working with diverse patient populations across complex clinical settings. Dr Hand completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Western Sydney University, during which she also completed a Bachelor of Medical Research. She undertook her psychiatry training across several metropolitan Sydney hospitals before continuing her clinical work within the NSW health system. She has also completed a Master of Psychiatry and a Master of Forensic Mental Health.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Hand has contributed to published psychiatric research and has a strong interest in clinical ethics. She has served on the Clinical Ethics Advisory Panel for the Justice Health Mental Health Network since 2024. She is a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales in the Discipline of Psychiatry and Mental Health.

Dr Hand is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and holds a Certificate of Advanced Training in Forensic Psychiatry. She is also an accredited RANZCP Trainee Supervisor.
