Dr. Mohammad Faizal

Dr Faizal is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the United Kingdom and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He has worked in psychiatry for over 20 years. He served as Clinical Director for Addictions in the UK and for Adult Services in Brisbane. He is currently practising in Forensic Psychiatry in Darwin, is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, United Kingdom & Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He has worked in psychiatry for over 20 years. He worked as a Clinical Director for Addictions in the UK and has worked as the Clinical Director for Adult Services in Brisbane. He is currently working in Forensic Psychiatry in Darwin.

Dr Faizal is a General Adult and Addiction psychiatrist with expertise in treating psychiatric disorders affecting adults of all ages. His clinical expertise includes disorders such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, alcohol and drug misuse, adult ADHD, adult autism spectrum disorders and perinatal disorders.

Dr Faizal has worked with patients experiencing psychiatric sequelae of brain injury and neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and late-stage dementia.

He has published in international journals in areas such as Addictions and Mood Disorders. He is passionate about ensuring patients have timely and safe access to care. He has won numerous clinical excellence awards for patient-centred care during his development of services in the UK. After spending two decades in the public sector, he is now providing services to private patients.
