General Psychiatry Assessments

At Mind at Peace, we provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments for adults seeking support with a wide range of mental health concerns. Our psychiatrists take the time to understand each person’s history, current challenges, and recovery goals.

A general psychiatry assessment involves a detailed consultation with a consultant psychiatrist, focusing on mood, anxiety, trauma, stress-related, and adjustment disorders, as well as complex presentations that may not fit a single diagnosis.

Following your assessment, your psychiatrist will provide a summary and treatment plan, which may include recommendations for therapy, medication, or collaboration with your GP or psychologist.

We aim to ensure each patient receives evidence-based, compassionate care in a supportive telehealth environment.

Common reasons for a general psychiatry referral include:

  • Anxiety, panic attacks, or excessive worry

  • Depression, low mood, or loss of motivation

  • Sleep or concentration difficulties

  • Adjustment to life stressors or workplace burnout

  • Trauma-related symptoms

  • Personality or emotional regulation concerns

  • Clarification of diagnosis or medication review

Referrals for general assessments can be made by your GP using MBS Item 291. Our current wait time for ADHD assessments is approximately two to four weeks. Please note that this can vary depending on demand, so we recommend contacting our friendly reception team for the most up-to-date availability.
